Financial assistance is now available to those affected by the Central Highlands bushfires.
The Premier has announced he has activated the Tasmanian Relief and Recovery Arrangements to help individuals and families affected by fires.
Jeremy Rockliff says the decision follows discussions with Central Highlands Council Mayor Loueen Triffitt.
“The bushfires have already burned through more than 5000 hectares of land and destroyed several buildings,” he said.
“This financial assistance will help those who reside in the impacted area and may have been evacuated or prevented from returning to their primary place of residence while the fires continue to burn.
“Anyone affected by the bushfires who needs assistance should contact the Central Highlands Council.”
