An 8.1-million-dollar package has been announced to help Metro Tasmania out of a rough patch.
Two million dollars is for an immediate pay rise for drivers to address their shortage which led to the state owner operator cutting around 180 services in Hobart last month.
Funding will also employ more transit officers for security, some to be stationed in Launceston and Burnie.
