Racing fans will have a chance to see the 2023 Melbourne Cup Trophy up close at the Tasmanian Turf Club in Mowbray next Monday, August 28.
The $600,000 trophy is being brought to Launceston as part of its 150-day world tour.
2007 Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michael Rodd will also attend the event.
The event will also feature some of Tasmania’s best horses galloping on the course proper between 11am-1pm in preparation for the upcoming Spring/Summer Tasmanian Racing Carnival.
At 5pm next Monday the Melbourne Cup will head to Sporties Hotel in Launceston for a further chance for locals to get a close up look at the trophy.
