Improving Tasmania's outdated road infrastructure remains a pivotal battleground in the federal election campaigning.
The Liberals unveiled funding today for the troublesome Sideling and a feasibility study for an Eastern Ring Road in Launceston.
Also funding the Sideling upgrade, Labor's keen to investigate the traffic busting idea of a West Tamar Bridge for the northern city and the region.
Meantime, the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania's Luke Martin is pleased with the level of pledges for his sector in the campaign.
"It's our view the Australian Government's got a responsibility to invest in our protected areas and obviously we've seen good commitments from both sides of politics so far, it's fair to say the federal opposition's probably taken the running with the sheer scale of what they've commited to.
