A betting outlet worker is shaken but unhurt after a robbery in Hobart's north overnight.
A robber described as 180 cm tall and of average build struck at closing time at the TAB on Derwent Park Road, forcing a staff member who was locking up back inside the building.
The solo employee was forced to open the safe before the offender fled with cash on the staff member's motorbike; police are yet to confirm reports he was left tied up inside.
Police later recovered the red Triumph Sprint on Lower Domain Road.
Anyone who saw a man in dark clothing near the TAB around 6.30 pm or the bike on the Brooker Highway later on is urged to contact investigators.
