An advice warning remains current for Lanena, Rosevears, Grindelwald, Bridgenorth, Legana and Notley Hills north of Launceston as a large bushfire burns on private land.
Driven by moderate northwesterlies, it burnt around 20 hectares on Long Plains Road after breaking out on Monday; the wind was due to swing around southwesterly early on Tuesday.
There's no immediate threat to property and crews will look to take advantage of forecast showers to bring in bulldozers, helicopters and multiple ground teams for a containment effort.
Investigations into the cause are expected to get underway on Tuesday.
Overnight, crews warded off flames from homes on Wildor Crescent at Mowbray after a deliberately-lit fire burnt around 2 hectares of bushland.
