A planned court complex for what will become the former Burnie UTAS campus on Mooreville Road has Labor persisting with its case that the government has been short on local consultation.
In August, the government made the surprise announcement it is dropping a $15 million refurbishment of the existing CBD courts in preference of the relocation.
In Parliament, Attorney General Elise Archer refuted the new courtrooms will be out of place in a suburban setting.
"Currently, it's a UTAS campus where there are lots of students every day, so the area is zoned community purpose, so it is very used to people coming in and out that place."
Some of the other points raised as possible disadvantages to the Mooreville Road site is it will entail police and lawyers having to commute and its 500 metre proximity to a large primary school.
