The Crystal Theatre Film Society Program 2017 present a screening of ‘The Lunchbox’ classified PG at the Stanley Town Hall. The screening will be held on Friday, 28th July, beginning at 7.30pm. This event is for film society members and visitors, donations welcome.

WEDNESDAY 2ND AUGUST
- Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium -  Burnie Arts & Function Centre - Town Hall - Deep below the surface, submerged below time, swam some of the world’s most amazing prehstoric marine reptiles. Following the internationally loved and applauded show Erth's Dinosaur Zoo™,the team at Erth have spent years scouring the seven seas, collecting playful prehistoric creatures of the deep in their giant aquarium. For the very first time, you are invited to dive in and meet these aquatic critters in person. Connecting young audiences to the real science of palaeontology, Erth’s prehistoric creatures are unmistakably ‘alive’ and mostly friendly, in this fun, educational and unique performance that will delight all audiences from ages 5 years and up.

Harrison Craig – Kings of Vegas Lounge Sessions – Burnie Arts & Function Centre - Having released his third studio album on Friday November 4 (2016), Harrison Craig is set to embark on an extensive national tour of Australia in 2017 singing the Kings Of Vegas. Harrison’s Kings Of Vegas album is homage to the most important music in Harrison’s life. From Nat King Coleto Sinatra's Rat Pack, Elvis Presley to Tom Jones, Mel Torme to Frankie Valli the album includes new interpretations of classics such as Almost Like Being In Love, She’s A Lady and Comin’ Home.

Hellyer Community Choir presents Choral Concert - Hellyer Community Choir extends an invitation for their Choral Concert to be held at the Burnie Uniting Church - 2pm Sunday 06 August 2017. Entry by donation. All are welcome.

The Who’s ‘Tommy’ – Rock Musical - DoMaur Productions presenting the Tasmanian Premiere of the iconic rock musical. Featuring all NW Tas local talent and accomplished live rock band on stage. SATURDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER
Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden - Official opening of the Spring flowering season - They are a non-profit community organisation developing, maintaining and operating a multiple award-winning Rhododendron garden. The Garden is widely known internationally and it’s unique design makes it one of Australia’s major Rhododendron Gardens. See over 22,000 Rhododendrons and other select plants set among 11ha within a series of “countries” from which the wild Rhododendrons originate. Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden offers walking tracks, lakes, bridges and many other unique design features, as well as resident platypus, echidna and diverse bird life. The Garden is classified as a plant museum. As such it is a repository for many species of the Genus Rhododendron that are, or may become, endangered mostly due to human activity.

–Emy Bay Lions Book Fair - The Emu Bay Lions Book Fair will be held on Saturday October 14 & Saturday October 28 at he Old Catholic Primary School , Flemington Street, Burnie open from 8.30am and closing at 4pm both days.
Book donations accepted and can be donated at Wylie Tiles, Cooee, Burnie Newsagency Ocean View Caravan Park and Hellyer's Road Distillery.
FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER – Nov 4
9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL – Burnie Arts & Function Centre- Presented by Burnie Musical Society - with musc and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the 1980 hit movie Nine to Five.
SATURDAY 21ST OCTOBER
2017 Cherry Blossom Celebration - Come along to the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden for Japanese inspired display. There will be a variety of food and beverages available. 10am -3pm
