Plans have been lodged with the Burnie City Council for 55 new social and affordable housing lots near the former site of the University of Tasmania’s Cradle Coast Campus on Mooreville Road at Park Grove, Burnie.
Homes Tasmania says it is committed to increasing social and affordable housing and releasing land for residential development, with the new lots of land to be initially be made available for affordable home purchase under the MyHome shared equity program.
The MyHome programme helps eligible Tasmanians buy their own homes by reducing the up-front costs and the ongoing mortgage repayments.
