Local activities to feature in National Science Week

North-West venues will play a part in National Science Week this week.

Although the week officially runs until Friday (August 16), events will be held right throughout August.

Highlights will include the West Coast Space Show at Strahan, Queenstown, Zeehan, Ulverstone and Devonport at various dates between tomorrow and August 21st, and the Science of Making at the University of Tasmania Makers Technology and Innovation Hub in Burnie on August 25th.

The Chocolate Winterfest at Latrobe on Sunday day got the week off to a start, featuring an event called the Science of Chocolate as one of its 40-event programme.

The Circular Head Science Gig, from 4.30 to 8pm at the Circular Head Community Centre at Smithton on Monday, is expected to be popular as well.

Devonport and Smithton Libraries will host events this week as well, while the Mobile Antarctic Classroom will visit Smithton, Burnie and Devonport, with Hive at Ulverstone also hosting Exhale – The Art and Science of Relaxation, on August 25th.
