The Burnie City Council has come up with a novel way to get locals involved in shaping the city’s new cultural precinct – free chips.
Work on the $20 million redevelopment is well underway after starting in April and expected to finish in June next year.
The council will be holding two gatherings at which it will be seeking public input on favourite types of art, defining Burnie’s uniqueness, and envisioning the future of the city and the precinct.
Free chips will be made available at the two sessions, at the Burnie Netball Centre on September 16th and an open air session at the West Beach waterfront on September 17th.
A post on the council’s website says it wants localss to “Chip In” with ideas to inform the brand evolution and contribute towards the narrative which shapes the precinct’s future.
