Dark Mofo has taken over Hobart, with a record number of food and beverage stallholders taking part in this year’s Winter Feast.
Revellers flocked to PW1 for the first night of feasting – to sample the wares of 90 vendors, 20 of whom are new to the festival for 2023.
Over at In the Hanging Garden, the venue was taken over by a curated lineup of First Nations artists – for The Gathering.
Tasman Keith, Barkaa and Uncle Dougie Mansell among those entertaining ticketholders.
At an opening night event, Premier Jeremy Rockliff praised outgoing Dark Mofo Creative Director Leigh Carmichael, thanking him for pushing boundaries through art.
“I’m very proud of you, and what you’ve done with your creative team, over the past ten years,” said the Premier.
