TasNetworks says customers affected by a more than 14-hour outage on the North-West Coast earlier this week will be compensated for any loss.
More than 2600 residential and business customers in the Port Sorell, Latrobe and Ulverstone areas were affected by the outage, caused when a car crashed into a pole at Port Sorell, bringing down vital lines.
TasNetworks says the particular pole had equipment mounted on it which is crucial to that area of the network, making repairs long and complicated.
A number of businesses were forced to close during the outage.
TasNetworks says residential and business customers can apply for compensation under its Power Supply Guarantee Scheme, which covers extended or repeated outages.
