There’s a strong chance this year’s Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year will be a North-West Coaster and a 40% chance they’ll be from Sheffield.
That’s because eight of the 10 finalists in the award are from the Coast, including four from Sheffield.
This year’s award includes a more than $50,000 prize pool, including a Polaris Ranger 530 ATV, valued at $16,995.
The final will be held at the Agfest site at Quercus Park at Carrick on August 24th, with competitors will engaging in a series of challenging modules designed to test their farming expertise, innovation, and problem-solving abilities.
Coastal finalists include Agfest chair Dylan Bellchambers, from North Motton, Sheffield quartet Annalise Rayner, Ashtyn Willey, Charlton Skirving, and Chloe Temple, along with Jordan Burr from just down the road at Nook, and Ulverstone’s Jake Williams.
