A North-West Coast man has been found guilty of sexually abusing his children and grandchildren.
The man, who can’t be named for legal reasons because it will identify his alleged victims, had pleaded not guilty in the Burnie Supreme Court to 15 counts of child sexual abuse, including multiple counts of rape, but was found guilty by a jury
The offending dates as far back as the 1990s and as recent as six years ago, occurred when the boys and girls were aged between six and 16.
ACM reports the man was found guilty of four counts of rape, eight counts of indecent assault, two counts of persistent sexual abuse of a child, and one count of an indecent act with a child.
The court had earlier heard the man had manipulated his victims into silence by saying their family would be broken up if they told anyone.
The jury took less than six hours to reach its verdict.
Justice Tamara Jago remanded the man in custody ahead of sentencing on October 18.
