Coastal construction forms have been recognised at the Master Builders of Tasmania Awards for Excellence, with six companies sharing in 13 awards.
Ulverstone-based Heazlewood Homes and Devonport’s Vos Construction and Joinery ed the way with three awards each.
Heazlewood was named best small builder of the year and also won two other awards in categories for dwelling constructions based on total cost, while Vos was recognised for its work on the Devonport City Living City Waterfront Precinct with two awards, including entertainment and recreation facility of the year, as well as best new project between $ 5 million and $10 million for the Dove Lake Viewing Shelter at Cradle Mountain.
Devonport’s Fairbrother Construction won the $20 million to $50 million project category for the Devonport Novotel waterfront hotel.
Meanwhile, a trio of Spreyton-based companies, Platinum Pro Constructions, AJR Construct, and Mead Con won two awards each, with Mead Con’s Elsie Mead being named state building and construction apprentice of the year.
