Tasmania’s biggest touring exhibition of up and coming art students will be held for the first time in Devonport, opening on Saturday.
The Coastal home for the annual ArtRage exhibition has traditionally been held in Burnie, but the current $20 million redevelopment of the Burnie Cultural Precinct, has resulted in a move to the Devonport Regional Gallery in the Paranaple Arts Centre.
The annual exhibition has been developed by the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston, with more than 180 works of Year 11 and 12 arts students from across the state.
As part of the ArtRage experience, students have been assessed on their work as part of their Tasmanian Certificate of Education.
The Devonport Regional Galley hasn’t been in a position to host the event previously, prior to the opening of the Paranaple Centre.
The exhibition will be on show over the gallery’s three spaces, with North-West students given prominence in the main gallery, running from Saturday through until September 16.
