Back on the Market

Gunns pulpmill site

The receivers for Failed timber giant Gunns are set to put the controversial pulp mill site and the opportunity to build a new mill on the Market after Easter.

Michael Smith a spokesperson for Kordamentha said they will be contacting organisations that had shown a previous interest in building the mill and would advertise nationally for other interested parties.

Georgetown Mayor Bridgett Archer is pleased.

“The Council has historically supported the development of that site, its been sitting idle for some time,so I'm sure the council would welcome any future development opportunity for the municipality that might flow from the sale of that site.”
