Theme: "Spring Garden at the Gate"
The Circular Head Garden Club Inc is running a competition to challenge th garden clubs of Tasmania to compete for a prestigious award and a $500 first prize.
The competition will be in the form of a portabe display and to be entered at the Garden Spectacular at Highfield Historic Site on Saturday October 21, 2017.
The ida behind this competition is to encourage friendship and interchange within our Tassie garden clubs. There will be a second prize of $250 and third, $100.
Each entry must be accompanied by a sign with the name of th entering garden club The sign is to be erected after judging.
Your whole club can be involved in the design, potting up plants/bulbs of spring colour, providing props e.g. garden ornaments, wheelbarrow, watering cans etc. The idea is that it can be easily transported and dismantled. Members can then claim their pretty pots or other items to take home to their own gardens. Remember, a garden gate will be the focal point.
Mr Tino Carnevale (ABC Gardening Australia) and Mr Gregory Milner (Marjorie Milner College Victoria) will be the judges of this event and their decisions will be final.
Size of display: Maximum 3 metres width and 2 metres depth. This size will be allocated to each club and the backdrop will be a beautiful stone wall at the entrance of the event. Your entry can be smaller size but no larger.
